Foreign Tourist Visit to Jakarta Dominated by 10 Countries

Jakarta Statistic Centra Body (BPS) noted foreign tourist visit to Jakarta during September 2016 was dominated by 10 countries. The 10 countries are China, Malaysia, Japan, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Netherlands, India, United States and Australia.

“The 10 countries have important role to support our tourism,” said Syech Suhaimi, BPS Head, Tuesday (11/1).

The visit numbers from China were 31,327 visits, Malaysia 26,604 visits, Japan 19,858 visits, Singapore 17,723 visits, Saudi Arabia 16,164 visits, South Korea 10,392 visits, Netherlands 9,022 visits, India 8,843 visits, United States 7,983 visits, and Australia 7,215 visits.

Tourist Visit in Jakarta Increases 24.37 Percent

“Compared to same period last year, the number is 7.75 percent bigger,” he added.

Compared to August, he continued, the foreign tourist number is lower. Tourist number in September was 234,887 people and in August was 276,260 people.

“The visit is calculated from Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Halim Perdana Kusuma Airport, and Tanjung Priok Port,” he closed.
